ABOUT THE ORGANISERS-
LEX MACULA is a registered NGO under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. We are a
youth organisation specializing in organizing moot courts, debates, seminars and other legal
competitions for a much better learning experience than what is offered to the law students.

Judicial Power and Judicial Duty: Some Dilemmas of Judicial Review in India.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER-
Prof. (Dr.) Upendra Baxi is a legal scholar and in 2011, sir was awarded the Padma Shri, the
fourth highest civilian award in India, by the Government of India. Since 1996, Sir has
been the Professor of Law in Development at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
He has been the Vice Chancellor of University of Delhi (1990–1994), prior to which he held
the position of Professor of Law at the same university for 23 years (1973–1996). He has also
served as the vice chancellor of the University of South Gujarat, Surat, India (1982–1985).
